The problem
Insurance agencies run on a pile of disconnected tools — sales in a spreadsheet, PTO in an inbox, new-hire onboarding in a binder, and no clear line from a business decision to what it does to the bottom line. Tracking Yeti set out to put all of it in one place that owners and agents would actually use every day.
The build
It's an Angular and Ionic front end with Tailwind for the dashboards, backed by a NestJS API on Firebase. A shared TypeScript layer keeps the models and validation the same on the client and the server, so the two ends stay in step, and building on Ionic means the same app runs on the web and can go native later without a rewrite.
Tracking Yeti is a management platform for insurance agencies — the place an agency runs its day instead of juggling spreadsheets and separate apps. Owners track sales and premium by agent and source, coach their team, manage PTO, run new hires through onboarding checklists, and model what a decision does to the numbers before they commit to it.
Under the hood it’s an Angular and Ionic app with Tailwind for the UI, backed by a NestJS API on Firebase. A shared TypeScript layer keeps the models and validation identical on the client and the server, so the two ends never drift — and building on Ionic means the same code runs on the web today and can ship as a native app later without a rewrite.
